I've got so much random stuff it is untrue, this patterned paper came from a doodlebug 6x12 pad that was originally intended for use on a cuttlebug (when cuttlebugs were new) I've never owned a cuttlebug... anyway now it is used to make another card

Lawn Fawn Home Sweet Home and A Birdie Told Me just make a sweet pair on this baby card.

I love the sentiment idea of 'under the weather' it covers so many bases, especially when 'get well' don't cut it and this card just ended up being so cheery not schmaltzy or dour. 

The die cuts are all lawn fawn scattered showers. I lovingly spray glued every cloud and covered each of those clouds with doodlebug glitter, and to match that I even had the patience to cover each rain drop with glossy accents.

I think this looks great considering its mostly made with scraps of my american crafts simply chic papers.

more of the same, it's amazing how far these papers are going, this is another one that has been made up as a card kit for my mother.

Still more of the DCWV birthday stack, not much to say except I think the combination of stars and sequins looks really cute on this card.

look after the pennies...

So I'm still using the DCWV birthday stack, it is just so easy to make bright and cheerful cards using every last scrap so there is not waste. Often when I make cards or scrapbook pages using my older stash I wonder why I bought it, but with this stack I wonder why I never used it before...

weird foldy thing

So I've been using up the DCWV birthday stack and I found a spotty paper that just didn't work for me as the dots were too far apart for cards, so I wondered what I could do to old the paper to change the look and this is where this box pleat card came from. Matched with a few circles cut with my ever there american crafts simply chic it works better than I was expecting.

I really love these cards, they're so bright and cheery, and I have to say that the papers have been remarkably easy to use. I don't know how I've managed to keep these papers for so long without using them.

The strip of yellow is the bit cut off when I cut the 8x8 sheet into a card so I'm really using every last bit.

dcwv birthday stack - sunny stars

So I'm continuing with using that DCWV birthday stack, and I'm still cutting up the included card stock to make the card blanks. I know that the 4 x 5.5" is an odd size for a card I think it works quite well.
My yellow and red card off cuts is used for the circle and star die cuts, so I am really using up all there is of this stack. The patterned paper works really quite well I think, fun in a retro way.
The most fun thing about this though is a new technique I've tried. The yellow stars are covered in white doodlebug glitter, I die cut the stars then used 3M permanent spray adhesive covering with the glitter and burnishing it. I think it works quite well.
The other feature of my card is my new toy, I bought some doodlebug sequins in order to extend my range of colours available and they make their first appearance on this card. I am sure you will be seeing a lot of these beauties...

covering up the grey

Playing catch up with my copics for carmakers class, and who doesn't wish they had pink hair. One of my regrets in life is when I was a student I never dyed my hair a crazy colour, to this day I'd love pink tips on my hair, or maybe blue. So I suppose this pink colouring was cathartic. I have no explanation for the green skin other than some latent rememberings of either star trek or wicked.

a change of pace - back to the birdies

So I was trying to use up a couple of the spare panels from the Laura Ashley birdie paper, and going for a slightly different look I used a green card base, and set it off with a cream layer to differentiate between the pattern and card stock.

I wanted a nice big sentiment to fill the bottom right corner and was concerned about the modern look of the Lawn Fawn scripty thanks but in the end I think it worked really well.

The sequin flowers I bought maybe 10 years ago, it is amazing what stash I'm finding as I move house and go through my supplies.
