dreams of japan

I've always loved the cherry blossoms in spring, I'd love to visit Japan to see the cherry blossom festival, and this card is my tribute

the birds of sympathy

I hate making sympathy cards, but following on from this idea, this card came together really easily, and now I have one ready should I unfortunately need it.

Pretty Pink Posh sequin shaker blog hop

I've made a few cards for the Pretty Pink Posh 1st birthday blog hop. I haven't made shaker cards in years so I had to dig out my foam.

Since it was a blog hop, I thought I'd make this the first post of my new blog (I've just been using tumblr since iWeb stopped working).

butterfly, flutterby

Over on the Daring Cardmakers blog the challenge is ‘Butterflies, Flutterby’, to make a project using butterflies.
Here I have used a Doodlebug butterfly stamp from the Teen Girls set, using Whispers Port Wine ink.
A scolloped background was cut from Bazzill bling Lip Gloss using a Nestabilities die.

The card  was finished with a stamp from the Faux Ribbon set from Papertrey Ink and ladybird glitter from Doodlebug.

thinking of papertrey

A while back I bought the Text Boxed set of stamps from Papertrey Ink, and really I’ve not used them enough to justify their purchase.
However when I saw that this weeks DCM challenge was to use stitching I had an idea right away.
I marked the stitched design by hand and then sewed it using a back stitch with regular thread. I used the flower from the Text Boxed set, stamped it with Doodlebug  bubblegum ink and cut it out. They were mounted onto the card using 3d foam.

I used American Crafts ribbon, and Bazzill bling in Petty Cash. I also used assorted gems from my collection.
