an excuse to buy stamps

looking around at what other people are doing I'm seeing a lot of people detailing their copic colouring with their prismacolor pencils, and so I thought I'd give it a go on this little cutie

I have specifically bought this stamp to make my valentine's card, but he has exchangeable sentiments so I'm sure you will see him again (otherwise it was a really expensive valentines card

the background is a hero arts stamp set with the little hearts each stamped randomly

in all I'm quite pleased with my colouring efforts, especially around the ears, but I'm most pleased that I used enamel accents for the nose without ruining it before they enamel accents dried

I adore these winnie and walter in a word dies, they have refreshed my card making style

the dots are a hero arts stamp set and inks all lawn fawn, it is finished with my all time favourite pretty pink posh sparkling clear sequins

and now for something completely different...

this is really not my usual style, but it was fun messing with distress inks and the centre of the flower glazed in nuvo jewel drops 

haven't I seen that before?

It's been a couple of weeks since I posted a card because I've been busy sewing and mending, but I liked the previous card so much I tried to emulate it here in other colours, I used the MFT inks from cube set 16 (I love ink cubes so much, so many colours in such a little space) Persimmon, Spearmint, and Lemon Chiffon.

The dies are again Hero Arts with a die from Mama Elephant. This time I didn't have the perfect colour and so I coloured some silver glitter with a comic marker.

I love these colours - and I was quite impressed with my attempt at an ombre ink... go me!

The stamps are all hero arts from their stamp and cut range, the die cut is Mama Elephant and the finishing touch is the glitter card which came from Tiger.

I quite like my sentiment background and even like the mixed ink colours I managed.

The die-cut sentiment is from Hero Arts, everything but the bird is Lawn Fawn and some Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

I keep on coming back to this card design, it's something I love, the simpleness of it, but I switch it up each time... it is a great use of scraps too. This is another card I've 'kitted' up for my mother, it should keep her entertained for a while :)

After having dug out this old Hero Arts Blossom Art stamp set I'm really liking using it with just coloured pencils. Consequently here is a second card for the Simon Say's Stamp work it Wednesday challenge. My use of the blue tones for the flower also fits this months 'A Blog Named Hero' tone on tone challenge.

It's the first of may, and I know a song about that... it's a nice outside song (maybe nice is the wrong word, but it is an outdoor song) and so floaty light balloons seemed fitting

Everything is made with scraps... cut many, many times because I've cut extras to go into a card kit for my mum.
