pretty birdies

I’m sure I saw something like this, but I can’t find where to attribute, so I’m sorry but if you know the source let me know… This started with me trying o find a nice way to draw sky with promarkers. In the past I have masked and then airbrushed, but I used canned air, not a compressor and it was super expensive. Here I sketched around the edge of a @lawnfawn blue skies die and the took ink from a cool aqua onto a blender before tapping this colour down. It ok, but not great….

same card, two colour ways

Still working on a couple of his&hers cards because I just don’t get time in the space of a one week class, but rumour has it that the next @onlinecardclass is 3 weeks long.

I visited my parents for the weekend and carried back my collection of coloured markers so I could make use of my new Lawn Fawn stamps and this is the first result… I think the complementary dies are just super cute with the little white boarder, and certainly a lot quicker than fussy cutting by hand.

Please don’t judge me over the use of comic sans, it is from a pack of rubons I got years ago.

It’s day 1 at @onlinecardclass His & Hers, and I tried out the same sketch for a ‘his’, ‘hers’ and what I think to be ‘anyone’. There really isn’t a huge amount of deviation from the sketch, and I loved trying out my new @lawnfawn stamps. I’ve never really been much of a stamper so was pleased with my modest efforts. I have to say I’m loving that stripy paper from the Soho Garden collection. I haven’t had much time to think about my his and hers lists, so I’ll post that later.

An older photo, but I realised I hadn’t posted a how to, not much of a how to really as I don’t have step by step photos, but worth a mention that this is just a sheet of 8.5 x 11” with the word love printed in the palest grey in my chosen font then covered over with any tiny embellishment I could get to fit, kinda cute really

@scrappyjedi certainly inspired my creativity on this layout, as I’m trying to replicate aspects of her fun style and informal relaxed layouts. I have to say I love the splash of pink in this layout, the colours are very bold for me, but I was so excited about picking up the @amcrafts @amytangerine sketchbook pad that I picked up two! :[ There is a certain amount of older stash in there too so I can be proud.
