scrummy buttons

Over on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog this weeks challenge was to use buttons, buttons I have and it appears I had an idea too.
I used Papermania buttons from a caddy I got years ago, they are so cute, but the colours just don’t seem to match anything I have, so I have most of the box left.
This card there was nothting for them to match though!

I used an American Crafts Ned Jnr Sidekick rub-on for the message, and that was it!

its a boy arty girlz

I am finding my mojo again, not only have I risen to the Arty Girlz challenge of using circles once, I’ve managed it twice in a week! This might owe a debt of copying to Mystic Nat (thanks)!
Here I marked circles onto scrap chipboard*, using a Quickutz die, then cut them out using a craft knife. They were then covered in KI memories ‘It’s a Boy Heartbeat’ paper.
The card was finished with 3 blue pearl hearts (free off a magazine) and a Pebbles Inc. rub-on.

*scrap chipboard: usually found on the back of paper stacks and also to support card packs etc...

happy bird day

Sometimes there is just some stash that I see and I have to have, it was this way when I saw these fabby Maya Road chipboard birds and branches. I just love them.
Buying them and using them for me are two quite different things, but I am trying not to keep unopened stash ‘because it’s too nice’ so I bit the bullet.
The bird is covered with Basic Grey Lily Kate papers and the branch with Love Elsie Betty XO, an embossed paper for a bit of texture on the branch.
I’ve also used Vanilla Bazzill cardstock which I stamped using a doodlebug heart in doodlebug Bon Bon ink, I also used this to ink the edge.
I finished with the message ‘happy bird day’ stamped in Staz-On black using my fabby Karen Foster snap stamps.

It was quite a simple card, but I have not quite mastered the art of covering chipboard... must try harder!

not me

My brother needed a couple of cards for work, one of which was to be a ‘good luck in your new job’ card in a gothie red/black colour scheme.
I’m not really into gothie, so I had to do the best I could with what I had. Luckily, just days before I had purchased the rather lovely DCWV Rockstar stack. I glittered up the larger stars on this paper and used it as my base.
Again I’ve used my new snap stamps *yay*, with a Basic Grey chipboard star and a Papermania silver star brad.

Definitely not me, but the challenge is good!

recycling for arty girlz

The challenge on Arty Girlz this week was to use circles, and so I used dots, which are just little circles right! right?...
Doodlebug pastel confetti paper and lots of assorted buttons (mostly circular in design).
The box is recycled it was a Nana’s kids chipboard embelishment box. I’m no alterer but I don’t like to throw nice things away so I recycle them for my own (wicked?) devices. This is to hold my journalling stickers, and anything else that will fit. I might one day fill it with a card kit for my mother. Hmm the possibilities...

joy to brenda pinnick

Well the 25th was Rudolf day and I completely missed it. Stupid me!
So knowing I should do my cards, I present them a few days late (didn’t I do this last month too?).
All the cards were variations on this one, using Brenda Pinnick papers, American Crafts chipboard snowflake and letters cut using the Bright alphabet from Quickutz.

One thing that occured to me doing this Rudolf card challenge thingy is how I am going to see how my tastes have changed over the year when I write my cards.

under the weather

I was desperately trying to make a leaving card yesterday and whilst searching through my papers found this lovely Chloe’s Closet Singin’ in the Rain Paper from Imagination Project
As soon as I saw it I had an idea (I love it when you find papers you forgot you had), a get well card.
So I used my Karen Foster snap stamps to write the message ‘sorry to hear you’re under the weather’ and combined with some orange peel bazzill and some lovely velvet ribbon I was done.

I love these snap stamps so much. I am so glad I got them. *big smile*

enjoy your retirement arty girlz

I’m getting into this challenge thing now, maybe my mojo is returning, or maybe I am picking and choosing challenges which are suiting what I am making?
Either way, I discovered the Arty Girlz Challenge Blog this week, where the challenge was to use green on your project. So in the best traditions of copying myself I present my card.

Basic Grey Phoebe papers, with some variety of orange peel bazzill (both the pink and green), American Crafts ribbon and my lovely new Karen Foster snap stamps for the message.

basic squares

This week on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog the challenge was to “create a project that is focussed on just one shape”, so I focussed on squares, and cheated by using patterned paper to remove some of the starkness.

Basic Grey Pheobe 6” card stack, Vanilla Bazzill on a 12.5 cm card. American Crafts ribbon (tied in a new way for me) and Pebbles Inc. rub-ons. The little pink square gems are from my stash and I have no idea where they came from.

On another note, I finally managed to get a couple of packs of Karen Foster snap-stamps, yay for me! Expect to see them in use very soon!

m is for monogram

Over on the Scrummy Stash Cafe blog they set a challenge to use monograms on a card or layout. Now, I’m not really one for challenges (as there are time constraints!) but I had an idea when I read the challenge so here it is.

‘H’ cut from Doodlebug sugar coated beetle black cardstock using the Quickutz Merry alphabet. The rest of the hello are American Crafts Fred rub-ons.

The gems are from the Papermania caddies.  I’m running out of bling! Help!

spring has sprung 2008

OK, I admit it. I went a little happy in the Papermill and ended up buying nearly the whole range of DCWV Spring 2008 products. I got the value pad, the glitter stack, the  sticker stack, chipboard and ribbon! Oh, and I picked up 2 lots of brads when out with my mother.
Mum and I split this stuff between us, but I am aware I am less than halfway through last years Spring stack!

Either way, I think this card is really cute, Spring papers and sticker, DCWV neutral cardstock, adhesive pearls from Lakeland and the ever present Pebbles Inc. message.

hi there!

Fiddling around with not much in the way of inspiration this little number popped out. It’s cute enough to send as a quick hello.
Quickutz Merry alphabet, Cuttlebug star, all papers and ribbon from American Crafts.
