hello sunshine

A long time ago my mother, who had always been very crafty, had a serious accident, breaking nearly every bone in her left arm and severing the nerve to her hand. Her ability to craft was a little curtailed and I started to make 'kits' for her where everything was cut.

This card is the master for a kit I've made her, and I'm very pleased with how cute this simple card.

celebrating success

I was so excited to see the Lawn Fawn hats off to you stamps get their own dies (I always get the matching dies if possible) because I've envisioned this card for a while, but couldn't be bothered with fussy cutting all of those graduation hats.

I'm a university lecturer and so graduation is a big thing for me, every year we get to see a new class progress into the big wide world having changed so much in their three of four years at uni. Every year the occasion is bittersweet, on the one hand great because it is the culmination of all of their hard work, on the other my contact with those amazing students is coming to an end.

Anyway, that is why graduation is such a big deal to me.

PPP 2nd Blog Hop - time for another

I've managed another card for the PPP Blog Hop, years ago I used to make cards using my scraps that look like they are inspired by Damian Hirst dot paintings, but I don't know if I was aware of those at the time. I've revisited the technique again though to use up my scraps.

PPP 2nd Blog Hop - this time it's die cutting

I love the cards Paulina makes on the Pretty Pink Posh blog. Again she's holding a blog hop, and again I had to take part, this is the first of my entries...

now I've got a glue gun I can make rosettes all day long

Using up the last of the American Crafts Letterbox, I bought a hot gun just to make these rosette embellishments, it makes it so much easier.

thanks for the garden shredder

As I've mentioned A & I moved south a few months ago into a house that needed work and a garden that needed serious work. We've not had a huge amount of time to do stuff, with trying to finish everything in Newcastle in order to get that one finally sold, but the overgrown garden here was beginning to get me down, so I started to cut it back. After 3 hours I had a pile taller than I and had hardly made a dent, the pile would never fit in the car, never mind the stuff in the garden that was still overgrowing.

Luckily a family friend gave us a garden shredder, and now A & I have spent many happy hours chipping away the garden, with a little under 20% done we have a pile of 'shreddies' well over one cubic meter, but it has made a difference.

So I wanted to make a thank you card for that family friend, something to say what a difference it had made, and this is what I came up with.

pour homme

There is something I find so easy about using My Minds Eye papers, this works ok as a card for a man I think.

baby, you can drive my car

So I picked up the My Minds Eye Boy Crazy 6x6 paper pad in TKMaxx a few weeks ago and adored how the paper matched my Lawn Fawn Happy Trails. I also used my stitched scalloped boarders and puffy stars.
