hello, hello

I’m trying really hard to make a card a day for the summer card camp. This week’s colour scheme has really pushed me, not only because of the bold colours, but because of the number of them.
I had a good rummage through  my supplies and found another purple paper, this time from the Basic Grey Green at Heart collection pack. I’ve been really good at mixing brands and collections here.
Patterned papers are from Basic Grey (Green at Heart and Urban Prairie) and Echo Park (Summer Days), ribbon from Pebbles and American Crafts, plain card from Bazzill and American Crafts, rubon is Pebbles and Bling is Kanban.
I’ve used my silhouette once again, butterflies from Echo Park and Silhouette and the cute hearts and stars labels.
Rather cheekily I brought the card and my camera to work to photograph it in decent daylight, but here in the bleak north you’ve got to do what works.

fancy seeing you here

Trying something new, not entirely liking it. Another card for this weeks colour challenges, the same Echo Park papers and yet another Echo Park silhouette shape, this time the butterfly.
Lots of bling, some vellum a Pebbles rubon and the feeling it could be nicer somehow.

hello again

More from the Echo Park summer days paper collection as it’s the only match to the colours this week. Clearly being very inspired from Kristina’s lovely card on Monday.
More from the Silhouette as well, this time Echo Park hearts and yet another Pebbles rub on matched with some bling.

i say hello

I was super excited to sign up for the summer card camp run by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire. What was even better was I got the class fee refunded because I won a place.
I’ve been in more of a scrappy place this last week so this has really kicked my back in to cards. This is so not my usual colours, very bright so I tempered it with a bit of craft, I did find when searching for these colours pretty much the only papers I had in these colours were from the Echo Park Summer Days collection that I bought on a whim a few weeks ago.
The clouds I made myself for my silhouette and the pennant is an Echo Park shape from the silhouette store. The rubon is from Pebbles.

november 2010

This page could not be simpler, I got this really cute colourbok die cut with a bird on, and I really love my birds. All I did was put a title on with some American Crafts glitter thickers and stuck it town on some American Crafts card, my journalling, white pen stitching and I think I have a cute layout.

the miracle of modern science

Back in 2006 I was lucky enough to go to Australia for 4 weeks, I had great plans of doing an album of the trip with the same papers running all of the way through. I never even started...
Of late I decide to just scrap it like anything else. It doesn’t matter if it’s a mix of papers, of style and the events of the trip are all mixed up. So I printed some pictures and I began.
This picture was taken a Soverign Hill a period theme park in a region of Australia which was heavily involved with the Australian gold rush. it is a photo of a guy who was a salesman extolling the virtues of the amazing voltaic battery as a means of activating explosives in the mines. The guy was very amusing and periodly patronising to the women in the audience, who may faint with surprise; and as a chemistry lecturer I can say he was scientifically accurate too.
So finally this tale got told using Pebbles twitterpated papers, journalling stickers and letter stickers and American Crafts ribbon.

october 2010

I’ve been getting behind on my month by month layouts, I manage to keep up with the journalling but don’t always make the page, so I’ve been playing catch up recently.
My Minds Eye Fine and Dandy boy papers, chipboard and stickers made up with a clean graphic look. And the first use of washi tape (love it, buy it, never use it).
The month by month summaries are a great way of putting chapters in any contiguous album.

hands

I loved the look of this layout and wanted to repeat the look with a photo, clean and graphic is the absolute best way to scrapbook and whilst I can admire the talent of people armed with stray mists it’s just not me.
Pebbles ribbon, American Crafts journalling spot, doodlebug letter stickers, Prima flower, another of my ancient flowers and a scrap of WRMK paper.

not all those who wander are lost

I love my photoless pages and I love my clean graphic just a quote pages.
This is a massively famous quote from the Lord of the Rings which I’ve loved since I was a little kid because I was always quite happy just to wander around taking time to look at things.
And grey and yellow is such a great combination to me right now.
American Crafts cardstock and thickers.

Sometimes you just don’t have a photo, or the photo isn’t conducive to telling the story, and I’m really quite happy (in fact I often prefer) layouts with no photos, just clean simple and graphic.
American Crafts poolside tickers, divine twine bakers twine, a little bit of WRMK cardstock and a flower embellishment that must be at least 6 years old :o.

paper hat

I found these photos of A and I when looking for something else. They’re quick photobooth shots taken right at the beginning of our relationship so not the highest quality, these were taken with the old fashioned isight and a beta of photobooth. We messed around for about 20 minutes with a paper bag using it as a hat on a day when it was really to not to do any work. After finding these photos I just had to scrap them.
American Crafts ribbon, journalling sticker and card, WRMK letter stickers, prima flowers all combined to make a nice clean simple layout.
