a 1st

I found out today that the neighbours kid is 1 tomorrow so I havd to frantically make a card. On finding that I didn’t have the Winnie the Pooh stickers that I thought I had I panicked a little more...
Then I found these ‘Oh Baby’ Mambi mini stickers. Cute enough for a kid, not too new baby. I just made a really quick and simple card, using Doodlebug Bazzill cardstock in Lily White, Dream and Hyacinth as well as a Pebbles Inc. duplicates rub-on and some bling from Kanban.

I cut the ‘1st’ using the Katie skinni mini alphabet from quickutz.

fathers' day spots

I was browsing some online shops the other day and I spotted a challenge to make a male card on the Dies to Die For blog. They also reminded us about the impending prospect of father’s day so I made this little number...
Everything is Doodlebug! Blue Jean stitched grosgrain ribbon, Blue Jean triplets vellum, Bazzill in Bubble Blue, Blue Bell and Blue Jean. The message was stamped in Staz-On using my much loved Karen Forster snap stamps.

Thanks for looking :)

pretty note lets

I’m making another gift, another set of notelets and this was the chosen design.
I’ve used Pebbles Inc ‘Nellie’s Garden Flower’ paper along with American Crafts long discontinued simply chic papers. I finished with a Papermania button.
I’ve used the Quickutz cookie cutter scollops die and a revolution flower and leaf die.

Now I just need to finish them and make a box...

scrummy wedding

It’s wedding season over on the Scrummy Stash Cafe blog and as I don’t have any wedding photos to scrap I made a card.
It’s a really bad shot because it is all so shiny... I used the DCWV Elegant paper stack for the background, and snow pearl card for the dress and card. The dress was cut with an X-Cut die (it is very pretty but doesn’t cut very well) and finished with some green ribbon around the waist and some flower sequins and gem stones.
The message is a Pebbles Inc. duplicates rub-on.

scrummy classes 001

Over on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog they’ve now started classes, this weeks class was Painted by Maria.
Here I show you my version, (sorry for the flash but I have to photograph when I get chance!) I used some Making Memories Noteworthy, My Minds Eye 29th Street Market and American Crafts ribbon with Prima Fall 2 got flowers.

It’s my usual 8x8 size so is not quiet as roomy as Maria’s nor do I have things at angles (if you knew me you would know I just can’t do this...)

paper edwin

Another of the cards I made during the  recent UKS cybercrop. The class by Double Dutch was paper piecing, something of which I was aware of but never got round to.
I only had one suitable stamp, DIY Edwin here by Magnolia, all of the papers are either DCWV 2007 spring stack or Basic Grey Lily Kate. Ribbon and flowers are from stash. Edwin was coloured using Whispers pens and the message was stamped using Karen Foster snap stamps.

beadazzled

I’m playing catch up at the moment with all of the things I made during the  recent UKS cybercrop. The class ‘beadazzled’ was run by the very talented Mystic Nat and it was encouraging you to use beads on your cards.
Both of these cards were made during the class. I didn’t have a branch stamp and so drew the branch by hand. I used nestabilities to cut the scolloped square and the message is a Pebbles Inc duplicates rub-on. The beads I used are from a boxed set by Papermania and the card was finished using a small piece of American Crafts ribbon.
Amazingly I won the ‘class prize’ for my entry which really thrilled and amazed me.
Again for the second card I didn’t have the appropriate stamp and so instead a used an Ellison ‘sparkle’ die to cut the appropriate shape. I again used a Pebbles Inc duplicates rub-on and beads from the Papermania boxed set.

scrummy train

Over on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog this weeks challenge is to create something with a transport theme.
I bought these cute Maya Road buttons a couple of months ago mainly because they had a train in (everything in our house has to be trains). I used Doodlebug Simply Sweet black rub-ons for the message and a ‘snow writer’ for the smoke. The paper string I got from IKEA it was a bargain and I think finishes the card.

scrummy circles

Over on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog this weeks challenge is to create ‘something different’ i.e. something of an odd shape.

I tried this card in the shape of a circle, it was cut using the largest scolloped circle from spellbinders nestabilities. I folded a card and cut so that it opened on one edge.

The cardstock is Drapin’ Daisies from the Imaginesce For Peeps Sake collection, I also used large ‘Powder’ brads from American Crafts, Queen & Co ‘Cloud 9’ Sassy sequin flowers. It was finished with a Pebbles Inc. duplicates rub-on.

birthday gift

I’m trying to make gifts at the moment, because my inspiration for buying them has completely dried up. So here I made a box of note-lets, in my usual simple style, I tied them up with ribbon and then made a cute box out of a sheet of Basic Grey Stella Ruby which was never going to get used for anything else. I hope the recipient liked it...
