wedding card

I love how people say “Could you make me a card for XXX for tomorrow” this is where quick cards are the key. This card is a prime example, very simple matting and layering make an elegant and quick wedding card. To be elegant for a wedding the card was made from pearl card and covered with a piece of one of the papers from the Chelsea 6 x 6” scrapbook designer papers by Brenda Walton for K & Company.

The card was finished with a sticker by Papermania layered up and raised on 3D foam and an Anita’s peel off in gold from one of the Birthday sheets.

dragonfly and flower card

The printed card came from a K & Company box set and needed little embellishment. The a dot of iridescent glitter glue was placed in the centre of the flowers to give the card some ‘lift’. Further flowers were cut in a complimenting purple card using one of the dies from the Sizzlits Hawaiian Flower Set these were again edged in iridescent glitter glue and the centers cut in a complimentary colour.

The dragonflies were cut 3 times each using the dragonfly from the Sizzlits doodle Die Bug Set, one in a brown which was trimmed for the body section and twice in pearlescent vellum. The body and wings were layered up and then placed on the card. Antenna were formed from off cuts.

monochrome new home

I needed a New Home card on short notice and didn’t really feel like I had suitable young and funky embellishments, so I did what any self respecting 5 year old would do and started to draw.

A simple out line of a house (inspired by The Muppets) and some simple matting onto black card, and hey presto a finished card at practically no cost.

funky present birthday card

This card is so simple and easy to make and works so well in many different colours. The only thing that restricts you is the availability of card and paper.

I used the Strips Decoritive Strip from Sizzix, and cut it in two colours. Using just the wiggle section it was mouted at  both edges of the card, you can just see on the inside I have repeated the use of this die cut to add some interest in the middle of the card. The present was cut 3 times using the Present die from the Doodlebug Birthday Set again by Sizzix. Twice in one colour and again in a complementary colour. The top of the box and ribbons were cut out of the top layers and the present decoupaged to give a 3D finish.

Finally the card was finished using tiny birthday peel of stickers coloured using Peel Off Markers to be a matching colour.
