monsters

In an effort to keep my desk tidy I'm trying to use up bits as I generate them, like use a whole 12x12 sheet of paper or in this case use the star I cute out when I made yesterday's shaker card.

So I distressed my star and water coloured my cute Lawn Fawn monsters to match, a few googly eyes and a cute card :)

craft haul june 2015 - v4.4

Well this is it... the 20th unique card out of the DCWV Nana's Nursery stack I started with, I've been working on a couple of others but I'm giving up on trying to use such large quantities of stash, I just want to try messing with a few other things. As an aside I found the stamped kraft card in a pile of stuff!

Lawnscaping 108 Stars and Stripes

It's been a while since I've managed a Lawnscaping Challenge but I've managed to sneak this one in at the last minute. I use a lot of stars, but I opted for this clean and simple look.

craft haul june 2015 - v4.0

Trying another non baby card with the DCWV Nana's Nursery papers, this time I've dug out a Stampin' Up cupcake stamp, but had to fussy cut it! I thought the cherries printed on the green paper deserved a food element on the card :)

sewing - happy day

I started this lavender bag ages ago, with no plan and its kind or cute, but there was a lot of sewing in those clouds :)

my universe

This week's Paper Smooches Sparks' challenge was an inspirational photo, there was so much to inspire, but I loved the house and the ombre effect on the right wall....

And so I made a card inspired by the ombre and the house, oh and the lovely blue (which is one of my favourite colours - around 480 nm for the geek in me!)

Ok, the stars may be be bit strange, but I wanted to have something to make the sentiment make sense. I've used my Paper Smooches My Hero dies, Sand Paper Smooches Space Cadet stamps and dies.

More heat embossing with holographic embossing powder giving a shimmery background to my card, lots of scraps to try and make layers.

I thought the balloons were sweet and they are a great way to use up scraps of card, so I tried another shaker...

watercolour nebula

When pretty pink posh held the watercolour blog hop I had an idea of a card I wanted to make, but I'm not a great artist, and I didn't have the confidence to try :(

However, I thought a nebula is an abstract thing, I can't go too far wrong, so today I had a go, I got out some distress inks and gave it a go... and do you know what I love it, its a perfect backdrop to my alien, and it makes the perfect birthday card for an astronomer friend of mine :) awesome

I knew right from getting this adorable Paper Smooches Space Cadet stamp set that this is the card I wanted to make. It works out perfectly too, because the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge this week is 'Anything Goes!!!' so I'm going to enter my cute nebula into that!

craft haul june 2015 - v2.4

Again another 'non baby' card out of the DCWV Nana's Nursery paper pad, I've dug out a Hero Arts background stamp which I've stamped 'tone on tone' but thought it was a bit stark so added the vellum to tone it back.

Whenever I have scraps of Neenah solar white I stamp flowers and leaves from Penelope's blossoms so I always have some on hand, I think it looks cute.

Check me out... you might miss it, but I've been adventurous, I've heat embossed!!! I haven't done that in years (after 120 wedding invitations each with 7 heat embossed elements!!! - not my wedding but a wedding gift for a family member).

I've also used some of those plastic vellum flowers

ppp watercolour bloghop - tweet baby

One final card for the pretty pink posh water colour blog hop. A soft water colour sky and an attempt at no line watercoloring on Lawn Fawn images :)

ppp watercolor bloghop - distressed flowers

So I've challenged myself to make another watercolour card, its not my natural environment, but I've had a play an managed another couple of cards for the pretty pink posh water colour blog hop.

Here I've heat embossed a Hero Arts stamp and coloured it with some distress inks (I bought the mini ink pads :)) I've seen some wonderful card on this bloghop, thanks Paulina for organising and everyone for sharing.

ppp watercolor bloghop - hedgehugs in the forest

I've known the pretty pink posh bloghop was coming for a while but this is a crazy time of year for me at work (exam marking - I'm a university lecturer) but I knew what I wanted to make and so I've been taking short breaks between the work I've needed to bring home with me.

Ultimately this card is for my dad for Fathers' day, so I didn't want anything girly, and for some crazy reason I thought I'd try and watercolour some countryside for my hedgehog to sit in (I haven't tried this in at least 20 years!), Turner has nothing to worry about, but I ended up happy enough thinking he was quite sweet.

As a reward for working so hard I bought myself some of the new Lawn Fawn releases and through the slightly older Gleeful Gardens set in too, and it arrived just in time to add details to this card :)

I'm also adding this to Lawnscaping challenge 107 (Critters)

sewing - happy penguin

Another sewing post, I've got adventurous with sewing on a few sequins :)

The metallic thread looks really nice but it really is a pain to work with...

Going ok with this 'kit' so far, the fourth card is another baby card, as I said I don't expect to finish the  paper pad, but if I can make 20 unique cards for the month (and perhaps a few duplicates) that would be nice...

june 2015 craft haul - v1.2

Trying something other than a baby card, with Lawn Fawn year one, and penelope's blossoms stamp and dies, the usual Mama Elephant Femme Frames and quickutz scalloped circle. Flowers are from the stash of prima I bought years ago.
