bride & groom

Just a quick wedding card, which I hope is neither twee nor frumpy. I used the DCWV pastel cardstack and the Quickutz Merry alphabet dies.

happy birthday dude

I found this cool Quickutz challenge blog sponsored by Crafts U Love, where I get all of my Quickutz dies from. The first challenge was ‘something summery’ to make up for the complete lack of actual nice weather.
So... I was playing around with my quickutz dies and the DCWV summer box (fitting, no?) from QVC. I used my surfboard die (one of the limited edition dies from last summer (KS0729)) and my palm leaf die (RS0171) along with the Moxie alphabet to make this cute card. The sentiment is by Pebbles Inc and I cut the tree trunk by hand. The surf boards were decorated with DCWV rub on doodles.
I’ve finished the wedding invitations... yay! Go me! I think for that I deserve a treat!

scrummy classes 007 aka scrummy clouds

every cloud has a silver lining.
Maria did a really great class on the Scrummy Stash Cafe blog this week. She used a mask for painting and some sewing and other bits.
I used Chatterbox papers, left over from July’s crop, Adornit tiny etched natural letters (which I have completely fallen in love with), Doodlebug lily white simply sweet cardstock stickers. DCWV adhesive cardstock and a Sizzix home sweet home die to cut the tree.
It continues to rain, but I can’t see the silver lining in that...

new home

I treated myself to a new alphabet die set, the Moxie skini mini dies by Quickutz. It’s such a cute alphabet, I’m really pleased with it.
I used the cards out of the DCWV Summer box I got from QVC for this card. The cards are a little thin for my liking so I’ve cut them up and used front and back. I also used a nestabilites die and a fiskars handpunch to cut the little holes.
I’m sick of all of this rain. My lawn is like a paddy field and it’s August!!!

cupcake

I have so much DCWV stuff, my latest addition to the pile was the pastel cardstock stack. There are some lovely colours in it, really filling in the gaps I think the other stacks had. I used 3 of the colours here, along with a studio G stamp set.
The image was coloured using whispers pens an finished with a touch of crystal stickles. Finally I used a piece of American Crafts ribbon.

funky baby

I love a bargain, and this stamp from Studio G was only 99p (and it was wood mounted too!). I didn’t do much to it just coloured it in and added a little bling.
I’m eating loads of Maltesers at the moment, I’m not normally much of a chocolate person, but right now I could eat Maltesers all day...

hi dreamy

Using my usual trick of using every last inch of papers this is my latest. I used the ends of my crop kit (MME Just Dreamy paper) and Bazzill in Marigold. The ‘hi’ was cut  using the Quickutz lemonade font.
I wonder whether I should be more chatty in my blog posts but I don’t really have a lot to say. I would complain about the weather and how my tomatoes are refusing to ripen. I’ve tried to grow a lot of my own produce this year and have been reasonably successful, I’ve hardly bought any salad leaves since May, and we are eating our own courgettes. The carrots are nearly ready and my strawberries were lovely (although there weren’t that many).

scrummy bling

Over on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  blog this weeks challenge was to ‘bling it up’.
I’ve had another go, this time making a card again from the leftovers of the crop kit. It was the Just Dreamy Paper collection from My Minds Eye, papers that have really inspired me, so far I’ve made 4 pages and 8 cards!!!
I also used Adorn It bling and Karen Foster mini casual snap stamps.

buttons for you

The challenge on the Papertake blog this week was to use buttons on your project.
I love the simplicity of this card, I used Karen Foster mini snap stamps for the message and Bubblegum Button Bonanza buttons.

hearts for you

This was just a quick card made using the scraps crafters always end up with (including the branding band off some MME papers!).
The hearts were cut using the Folk Mini die from Quickutz, and the message was stamped using Karen Foster mini snap stamps.

scrummy bling

Over on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  blog this weeks challenge was to ‘bling it up’.
This was not a problem for me who really can’t help but ‘bling’ everything I see up to withing an inch of it’s life.
Having just been to the crop I used the leftovers of the crop kit to make my page. It was the Just Dreamy Paper collection from My Minds Eye, papers that have really inspired me.
I also used Adorn It and Kanban bling and American Crafts LAX glitter thickers but the rest came in the kit.

scrummy crop - maria's class

I did the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  cyber crop and I did Maria’s Class.
This was my favorite class, although I have to confess I drew the acetate by hand. I used Basic Grey Sugared stuff, with American Crafts LAX glitter thickers and some American Crafts tags which I found.
Great class Maria. Thank you all at the Scrummy Stash Cafe for a great cyber crop.

scrummy crop - rachel's class

I did the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  cyber crop and I did Rachel’s Class.
Rachel got us painting, with a sequin waste resist (mine was stars), and the wibbly ribbon. I used KI Memories baby boy kit.

scrummy crop - vanessa's challenge

I did the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  cyber crop and I did Vanessa’s Challenge.
Basic Grey Archaic papers, simplified from the sketch, but really pleased with this.

scrummy crop - vanessa's class

I did the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  cyber crop and I did Vanessa’s Class.
I simplified it a lot, and my ultra thick enameling was alot plainer (as I only have clear embossing powder). I used Basic Grey Archaic

you're invited

A copy of the invitations I’ve made as a draft for my cousin’s wedding.
I’ve used the Stampin’ Up! French Flair stamp and cut out the bird in the top right corner for the detail. I’ve also used a Studio G stamp for the message. Oval nestabilities were used and the plain oval embossed after die cutting. I used a clear ink pad with Heat It Up Enchanted Gold embossing powder. The whole of the scolloped oval was heat embossed twice to give a good colour. Finally I trimmed with cream ribbon.

scrummy crop - angle's class the other one

The next class I did on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  cyber crop was Angie’s.
Not much like Angie’s example, but this was inspired by the class. Just using the technique to highlight a very simple card. Brushed metallic cardstock and Papermania Sweet Nothings supplies.

scrummy crop - maria's challenge

The next challenge I did on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  cyber crop was Maria’s.
Maria wanted us to make a layout with 5 words that describe us. My words are ‘a kid on the inside’.
I used Basic Grey Archaic, Maya Road neutral microchip buttons, American Crafts Poolside white vinyl thickers, and paper trim from IKEA.

scrummy crop - rachel's challenge

The next challenge I did on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  cyber crop was Rachel’s.
Rachel wanted us to add dimension, so I did a simple layout with Basic Grey Sugared supplies. Not much to say, I couldn’t even think of a title.

scrummy crop - theresa’s challenge

The next challenge I did on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  cyber crop was Theresa’s.
I used American Crafts Simply Chic papers (I love these colours) along with a Mambi message sticker, rusty pickel buttons (I love the jars), and Prima flowers.

scrummy crop - angie's class

The next class I did on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  cyber crop was Angie’s.
Paper piercing, the challenge. I do this a lot anyway (or sew with my machine and no thread), but to at least  show pretense of doing the class, I did my jaggedy edge rather than the scollops, and look, a squifty angle too!

scrummy crop - angie's challenge

The next challenge I did on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  cyber crop was Angie’s.
Using eyelets... I’ve recently just got a big bite so I have no excuse. I used my current fall back photo of me (if you look I’m covered in sand), and used WRMK hardware, flowers and eyelets. I also used American Crafts Rootbeer Float vinyl thickers and doodlebug simply sweet rub-ons.
Oh and the little bit of hardware I used at the top, I have no idea what it should be used for...

summy crop - samm's class

The first challenge I did on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  cyber crop was Samm’s Class.
Now, the class was all about distressing - not something I am usually into, but I found myself enjoying it. You can see some inspiration from Angie on this card. Supplies were Papermania sweet nothings papers.

scrummy crop - karen's challenge

The next challenge I did on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  cyber crop was Karen’s.
Karen made a wonderful crane pin cushion, I’m not quite that creative, so I made a gift box. I used DCWV 2008 Spring stack papers, and nothing else... well maybe a little tape.

scrummy crop - samm’s sketch

The first challenge I did on the Scrummy Stash Cafe Blog  cyber crop was Samm’s sketch. I really really dislike this card, no matter what I did it just didn't work for me.
I some of my Mum’s Papermania sweet nothings stuff (better than I expected quality-wise but nothing that made me go wow!), and some prima flowers.
